Commitment

Accessibility Statement

We want every person — including people with disabilities and people who read Arabic — to be able to use dfwus.com and to reach a licensed agent.

Effective August 27, 2026 · Target standard: WCAG 2.1 Level AA · Languages: English and Arabic

1. Our commitment

American Mutual Insurance Agency LLC is committed to making dfwus.com usable by as many people as possible, whatever their ability, device or language.

This matters especially in our line of work. Many of the people we serve are seniors enrolling in Medicare, people managing a health condition, and families whose first language is Arabic. If our website is hard to use, it stops someone from getting coverage.

We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 and Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act.

2. What we have built in

  • Keyboard access — the site can be navigated without a mouse, and the focused element is visible.
  • Screen readers — semantic headings, landmarks, labelled form fields, and descriptive alternative text on meaningful images.
  • Contrast and text — colour combinations chosen for readability, and text that reflows when you zoom to 200% without losing content.
  • Responsive layout — pages work on phones, tablets and desktops, and in portrait or landscape.
  • Full Arabic version — with correct right-to-left layout and typography, not machine-translated English.
  • Plain language — we explain deductibles, networks and enrollment periods in everyday words, in both languages.
  • Clear link text — links describe where they go rather than saying "click here".
  • Reduced motion — animation is limited and respects your system's reduced-motion setting.

3. Known limitations

We would rather tell you where we fall short than claim the site is perfect. Areas we are actively working on:

  • Third-party content. Carrier quoting tools, enrollment portals and government sites we link to are built by others. We cannot control their accessibility. If one blocks you, call us and a licensed agent will complete the process with you over the phone.
  • Documents. Some PDFs supplied by carriers are not fully tagged for screen readers. Ask us and we will provide the information in an accessible format.
  • Older content. Some earlier blog and guide pages have not yet been reviewed to the same standard.

Accessibility is not a one-time project. We review the site as we add pages and fix issues as we find them or as you report them.

4. If the website does not work for you

You never have to use the website

Everything on dfwus.com can be done by phone with a licensed agent, at no cost to you. Call ⁦855-277-7770⁩ and we will compare plans, answer questions and complete your enrollment with you.

We can also:

  • Read plan documents aloud to you and explain them, in English or Arabic.
  • Send information in large print or another accessible format.
  • Work with a family member, caregiver or interpreter you authorize.
  • Take extra time. We do not rush enrollment conversations.

If you use a TTY, dial 711 for Telecommunications Relay Service and give the operator our number. For Medicare questions directly, 1-800-MEDICARE has TTY at 1-⁦877-486-2048⁩.

5. Tell us about a problem

If you hit a barrier on dfwus.com, we want to know. Tell us:

  • The page address where it happened.
  • What you were trying to do.
  • The device, browser and any assistive technology you were using.

We aim to reply within 3 business days and to give you the information or complete the task for you in the meantime, whatever the fix timeline turns out to be.
